Oil Filter
An oil filter is a filter specifically designed to remove contaminants from engine oil. Keeping the oil filter in good working order is essential for the smooth running of your vehicle and for maximising on your fuel efficiency.
Changing your oil filter regularly will help you achieve the best possible fuel economy for your engine type. We stock oil filters for all makes and models so please enquire about oil filters for your vehicle.
Air Filter
An air filter prevents abrasive particulate matter such as dust, pollen or bacteria from entering the cylinders of the engine.
This helps prevent mechanical wear and oil contamination which affects the engine performance.
Changing your air filter regularly will enhance the performance of your vehicle so we recommend that this is done as part of the overall service.
Fuel Filters
A fuel filter helps to eliminate dirt and particles from entering the fuel and it performs a crucial function within the engine fuel system.
Without a filter, the fuel will soon get clogged up with contaminants and ultimately cause the engine to fail.
It is recommended that you replace the fuel filter regularly so that your engine can perform at its optimum level whilst giving you fuel economy efficiencies.
Spark Plugs
Spark plugs are designed to ignite the fuel and start your engine.
They do this by creating an electric current when you turn on the ignition. This electric current travels into the combustion chamber and ignites the fuel and air mixture, which in turn starts the engine.
Over time, spark plugs will develop deposits on the electrodes and, through general wear and tear, they will stop working properly and often crack. This will cause your engine to misfire and hinder performance considerably.
Brake Pads
Brake Pads are absolutely crucial for the safe operation of your vehicle’s braking system. They work by the material on the brake pad being squeezed by the caliper onto the brake’s disc.
This causes friction and will make the wheels of your vehicle stop spinning and bring your car to a halt. If you hear lots of squeaking, squealing or grinding when you apply your brakes that is a sure sign that your brake pads need to be replaced.
Brake Disc
The brake disc is another essential element of your vehicle’s braking system.
The brake disc is located on the hub of the wheel and when you apply the brakes, the brake pads are pushed onto the brake disc and your vehicle speed reduces, allowing it to stop. Any problems with your brake disc should be dealt with as a matter of urgency.
Wiper Blades
All vehicles are legally required to have wiper blades or windscreen wipers as they are often referred to. Wiper blades will help remove rain and dirt from your windscreen and are absolutely crucial during the winter months when your vehicle can be exposed to extremes of weather.
It is very important that your wiper blades are in good working order and perform the tasks appropriately to give you good visibility.
